Second book in the Thrawn Trilogy. Less setup than the first one but more action. Yet it ends with sufficient tension to pull you right into the third one. Loved it.

The empire and the new republic are racing to find a large fleet of ships that mysteriously vanished decades ago. This fleet would tip the balances of power decisively in favor of whoever finds it first.
